Née Lise Laplante, le 27 octobre 1953, elle vient à peine de sortir du conservatoire. Elle a vingt ans. Son père Marcel Laplante alors réalisateur à Radio-Canada, réussi à lui décrocher une audition pour prendre la relève du personnage de Bobinette, interprété depuis 1959 par Paule Bayard. Elle fait la lecture d'un texte en compagnie de Guy Sanche et de son auteur Michel Cailloux. Et la chimie entre les deux comédiens vient alors de naître comme par magie. Magie qui transperça l'écran pendant près de 25 ans. Pour les besoins de la cause, Guy aida Louise à se trouver un nouveau nom d'artiste. Elle devenait donc, Christine Lamer (chris-tin(e) la-mer) prénom et nom composés de 2 syllabes sonores chacune. Elle fut bien surprise de se retrouvée, elle-même derrière le castelet à jouer Bobinette, l'héroïne de son enfance.
Au début des années 1980, elle décrocha le rôle-titre dans un téléroman à Télé-Métropole (aujourd'hui le réseau TVA) intitulé « Marisol ». Un autre téléroman intitulé « L'Or du Temps » où elle y tenait le rôle d'une femme pas très aimable, textes écrits par Réal Giguère. Avec Christine Chartrand, elle co-anima une émission de variétés « Les Christine ». Elle anima aussi avec son conjoint, une émission enregistrée à Sherbrooke « Les Anges du Matin ». Puis les comédies légères des théâtres d'été s'enchaînent.
Le 16 octobre 2000 lors du gala « Les Gémeaux » (gala récompensant les meilleures émissions télé) André Robitaille accompagné de Bobinette, dans un décor sortit de la voûte de Radio-Canada, remirent un prix. Et par la même occasion, André rappela au public présent, les moments de plaisirs à regarder « Bobino ». Et le tout se termina par une ovation très émouvante pour Christine. Elle a dû sortir de derrière le castelet, vêtue d'un jeans et d'un simple chandail, pour recevoir ce vibrant hommage. Elle est aussi chroniqueuse dans l'émissions « Le mec à Dames » animé par Jean-Pierre Coallier à TQS. Et pour son 50e anniversaire, elle publie chez Quebecor/Publistar, une biographie: « Nom d'une Bobinette: Déjà 50 ans! » en novembre 2003.
